XM's "Hank's Place" to Re-open Under New Management As "Willie's Place" on July 10

Washington D.C., June 29, 2006 -- XM Satellite Radio, the nation's leading satellite radio service with more than 6.5 million subscribers, announced today that country music legend Willie Nelson will join XM to launch "Willie's Place" (XM 13), XM's traditional country music channel, formerly known as "Hank's Place." In his new role as "proprietor" of "Willie's Place," Nelson will provide creative direction for the channel, as well as contribute exclusive programming to "Willie's Place" and other XM commercial-free music channels. "Willie's Place" will begin broadcasting July 10.

In addition to changing the channel name, XM is building new studios for "Willie's Place" in Carl's Corner, TX, located in the Willie Nelson's BioDiesel Truck Stop. "Willie's Place" will begin broadcasting live from Carl's Corner in 2007

This announcement comes just a few days in advance of Willie Nelson's Annual Fourth of July Picnic concert. XM will air Willie's legendary concert, now in its 33rd year, on its progressive country channel X Country (XM 12) Tuesday, July 4 from 12 noon until 12 midnight ET. XM on-air hosts Jessie Scott and Eddie Kilroy will broadcast live from the concert site at the historic Fort Worth Stockyards.

"Baseball" Episode from Dylan's "Theme Time Radio Hour" Added to Hall of Fame Archive
Washington D.C., June 28, 2006 -- Bob Dylan is once again headed for Cooperstown.

The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum has added to its archive the "baseball" episode from legendary singer-songwriter Bob Dylan's critically acclaimed music show on XM Satellite Radio, "Theme Time Radio Hour." The one-hour episode contains Dylan singing an a cappella rendition of "Take Me Out to the Ball Game," along with classic baseball calls, such as Curt Gowdy's legendary call of Ted Williams' home run in his final at-bat with the Boston Red Sox, and baseball original compositions, such as Buddy Johnson's "Did You See Jackie Robinson Hit That Ball" and "The Ball Game" by Sister Wynona Carr, among others. The "Theme Time Radio Hour" airs weekly on XM and features an eclectic mix of music based around a theme.

Music Industry Sues XM Satellite Radio Over Radio's that Record

June 20, 2006/foxnews/ The recording industry accuses XM Satellite Radio of "massive wholesale infringement" because of a $400 iPod-like device that allows XM customers to record up to 50 hours of music and automatically parse recordings by song and artist.

The lawsuit, filed Tuesday in New York by the Recording Industry Association of America, seeks $150,000 in damages for every song copied by XM Satellite customers using the device, which went on sale weeks ago. The company says it plays 160,000 different songs every month.

The lawsuit does not seek directly any payments from or sanctions against XM Satellite customers who record songs. But if the lawsuit were successful, it could raise the company's costs, which could be passed on to subscribers as higher monthly fees

As you know, all sports go where the money is. Now it appears MLB may be getting ready to take another step in that direction. With only 23% of MLB on local broadcasting and 8 MLB team now exclusively on Cable TV, it is likely some teams may be moving to subscription radio exclusively versus terrestrial radio. Edison’s Larry Rosin tells the Wall Street Journal “it is probably inevitable that baseball radio broadcasts will go to a 100% subscription model... It will happen because there's too much money in it not to do it."

This could all be good news for XM Satellite Radio as they will hold the exclusive rights to all major-league baseball games for over-the-air broadcasts. The MLB's own online subsription Internet radio, MLB Radio, will surely benefit as well.

Due to revenue between XM Radio and MLB Radio being split evenly among the 30 teams, there's an added financial driver to make this happen. With 23% of XM subscribers signing on primarily to hear the MLB, the revenue driven (and shared) due to exclusivity would make dropping terrestrial radio the inevitable future.

Stern Fan Attacks Opie &Anthony Producer During 'Walk Over'

June 16, 2006/Orbitcast/ Howard Stern fan approached Opie & Anthony during the XM "Walk Over" on today's show. The Stern fan first came up to the microphone and said, "This is Opie and Anthony's whole audience here? I just wanna say, uhm, Howard Stern has a huge cock and I love him."

The Stern fan then continued and was allowed to say his anti-O&A/pro-Stern comments on the air (calling O&A "douchebags"). There was some back and forth - where the unnamed Stern fan claimed Opie & Anthony steal "a lot shit [from Stern]" - Anthony responded with "steal a lot of shit? Yeah, like his radio stations!"

At that point the Stern fan then threw Ben Sparks against a wall and was subdued by "Club Soda Kenny" and "Master Po" who pinned the Stern fan down and made him apologize on air. His alleged reason for the attack was that Ben Sparks (Opie & Anthony's Producer) spit on him. He was held until the NYPD came.

"Alright, that worked out well... that was the best walk yet!" Anthony said afterwards

June 16, 2006/ Orbitcast/ XM Satellite Radio has recently pitched the US Government on expanding their EAS (Emergency Alert System) broadcasts to include a crisis command and control initiative

You'll recall during the Hurricane Katrina relief effort, XM enabled a dedicated channel (ch 248 - Red Cross Radio) and distributed satellite radio receivers out to relief workers, so they could receive updates and information while in the field. This is something that cell networks and terrestrial radio simply cannot provide.

Satellite Radio can provide many benefits to government agencies working in an emergency situation. As first reports come in during a crisis, instructions can be transmitted simultaneously to multiple resources - alleviating confusion on the field, and directing assests to where they are most needed.

The XM radios can be restricted to only receive only government selected channels (such as only news, and government channels). Further, since each individual receiver is assigned a unique Radio ID, XM has the ability to send a voice or data message to an individual radio or a select group of radios. Since the signal is encrypted, a secure message is sent to key decision-makers or field agents in the field through a robust network.

Very impressive stuff. As 9/11 and Katrina showed us, communication in the field should be a high priority, and the usage of an existing satellite-based, highly redundant system is pretty much a no-brainer

So during emergency situations where terrestrial radio networks are down and cell phone networks are rendered useless, you'll be able to receive emergency notices without any power source.

Not only would this be useful for government agencies, but the benefits for the civilians who live in areas where power outages are common for crisis situations (which is pretty much... anywhere).

The Paul McCartney "Artist Confidential" will premiere on Monday, November 21 at 7 pm ET on XM Live (XM Channel 200), The 60s (XM Channel 6), The 70s (XM Channel 7), Deep Tracks (XM Channel 40), Top Tracks (XM Channel 46) and The Blend (XM Channel 25).

Recorded before a live studio audience at XM's state-of-the-art Performance Theater in D.C., just three blocks from the site of the Washington Coliseum where the Beatles played their first live U.S. show more than 40 years ago, McCartney talks about the creative process, his new album "Chaos and Creation," and shares some unique insights on his life and work. Throughout the hour-long performance, McCartney also treats the audience to live acoustic renditions of songs from the new album, including "How Kind of You," "Fine Line," and "Follow Me."

During the show, McCartney describes his passion for writing songs as a "compulsion," guiding audience members through a brief example of how he typically takes a few notes in his head and works them into a larger melody. There are a few exceptions, of course; the melody for the Beatles' classic "Yesterday" came to McCartney in a dream. "That was a pretty good dream," jokes McCartney.

While not a classically trained musician, McCartney remarks that he does enjoy classical music and says classical music has influenced his songwriting. For example, McCartney notes that a Bach piece directly inspired the melody to the song "Blackbird," of which he plays a few bars for the audience

McCartney also shares with the audience that "Here, There and Everywhere" is among his favorites out of all the songs he has written during his long career.

The market share figures are based on XM's addition of 305,284 net retail subscribers in the 3rd quarter versus the 209,920 net retail subscriber additions announced by its competitor today. XM's total industry share, which includes retail and new car subscribers, was 63 percent for the 3rd quarter with XM adding 617,152 total subscribers and its competitor 359,294.

digital adaptor that delivers XM to any new or used vehicle having a stereo
system equipped with Radio Data Service (RDS). The announcement was made by

RDS is available in a variety of vehicle models offered by leading
automakers, including Audi, BMW, Chrysler, Dodge, Ford, Infiniti, Jaguar,

RDS-capable car stereos connected to the XM Direct tuner will display the

Washington D.C., October 27, 2005 -- XM Satellite Radio Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: XMSR) today reported financial and operating results for the third quarter ended September 30, 2005. XM ended the quarter with 5,034,642 subscribers, doubling the 2,516,023 subscribers reported last year for the third quarter. The growth was driven by third quarter net subscriber additions of 617,152, a 48 percent increase over the 415,671 net subscribers added in the third quarter 2004. Given its strong performance in the first three quarters, XM reaffirms its guidance of exceeding 6 million subscribers by the end of 2005.

XM's net loss for the third quarter 2005 was ($131.9) million, as compared to ($118.0) million in the third quarter 2004. XM reported an EBITDA loss of ($73.8) million for the third quarter 2005 compared to a third quarter 2004 loss of ($62.9) million.

Record Revenue from Cost-Effective Subscriber Growth

For the quarter, XM reported revenue of $153 million, an increase of 134 percent over the $65 million reported in the third quarter 2004. XM's third quarter subscriber growth was driven by strong automotive and retail distribution performance with a range of full-featured products. Subscriber Acquisition Costs (SAC) in the third quarter 2005 were $53, a decrease from the $57 in the third quarter 2004. Cost Per Gross Addition (CPGA) in the third quarters of both 2005 and 2004 was $89. XM products are well stocked for the holiday season and XM expects to accelerate its subscriber and revenue growth through the fourth quarter.

Samsung has unveiled its neXus XM Satellite Radio/MP3 Player and here it is. Take a look.

This is the first MP3 player with XM Satellite Raido Capability. The Samsung neXus will come in 2 versions, one with 1 gig storage (50 hours) and 1 with 512mb storage (25 hours). Each Samsung neXus device comes with an XM Satellite Radio home docking kit, which allows the device to receive XM Satellite Radio in the home.

The neXus uses the XM's Connect and Play technology which will allow you to tag songs you hear on XM Satellite Radio to be downloaded from your xm+napster online service the next time you place your radio in the docking station.

Digital Content from XM can be stored when the neXus is connected to a home or car docking station. This content can then be played anywhere for a complete portable music listening experience.

The Samsung neXus will also allow you to store songs from your personal digital music collection, including MP3's and WMA files you have purchased from a variety of music services. The delays are reported to be due to software integration issues.

Delphi Corporation filed voluntary petitions for business reorganization under chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code

TROY, Mich., Oct. 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Delphi Corporation(NYSE: DPH) today announced that in order to preserve the value of the companyand complete its transformation plan designed to resolve Delphi's existinglegacy issues and the resulting high cost of U.S. operations, Delphi and 38 ofits domestic U.S. subsidiaries filed voluntary petitions for businessreorganization under chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code on Saturday inNew York City. Delphi's non-U.S. subsidiaries were not included in thefiling, will continue their business operations without supervision from theU.S. courts and will not be subject to the chapter 11 requirements of the U.S.Bankruptcy Code. Delphi's global management team will continue to manage boththe U.S. and global businesses. Delphi expects to complete its U.S.-basedrestructuring and emerge from chapter 11 business reorganization in early tomid-2007.

"Our global operations, both U.S. and non-U.S., will continue withoutinterruption," said Robert S. "Steve" Miller, Delphi's chairman and CEO. Delphi plans to finance its global operations going forward withUSD $4.5 billion in debt facilities plus additional committed and uncommittedfinancing lines and/or securitization facilities in Asia, Europe and theAmericas. The financing includes USD $2.5 billion borrowed from prepetitionrevolver and term loan facilities and a commitment for up to USD $2 billion insenior secured debtor-in-possession (DIP) financing from a group of lendersled by JPMorgan Chase Bank and Citigroup Global Markets, Inc. The companyplans to obtain approval of an adequate protection package for the benefit ofits prepetition lenders as part of the Company's overall financing activities.

The proceeds of the DIP financing together with cash generated from dailyoperations and cash on hand will be used to fund post-petition operatingexpenses, including its supplier obligations and employee wages, salaries andbenefits. The overall liquidity available to Delphi (including more thanUSD $1 billion on hand outside the U.S., which Delphi does not plan torepatriate to fund U.S. operations) will support its global operations outsidethe U.S. and help ensure the continued adequacy of working capital throughoutits global business units.

"We took this action because we are determined to achieve competitivenessfor Delphi's core U.S. operations, and the key to accomplishing that goal isreducing these costs as soon as possible," said Miller. Miller said that Delphi has been engaged in constructive discussions withrepresentatives of its major unions, but was unable to complete the necessarymodifications to its collective bargaining agreements without assistance fromGeneral Motors Corporation or intervention of the U.S. courts. "Having beenunable to resolve our U.S. legacy issues out of court," Miller said, "wedetermined it was in Delphi's best interest to address the U.S. cost-structureissues through the chapter 11 process now while our liquidity position isstrong. We will be making a further proposal this month to each of our unionsto transform our labor agreements to a competitive labor cost structure and toaddress non-profitable and non-strategic U.S. operations. In addition, weexpect to address pension plans and health and retiree benefits to align themwith competitive benchmarks in the industry and our transformation plan."
Delphi noted that its non-U.S. subsidiaries are generally competitive,cash flow positive and experiencing high growth opportunities. "One of ourprimary goals is to preserve and continue the strategic growth in non-U.S.operations while we address our U.S. cost structure issues through thechapter 11 process," said Miller.
Delphi filed more than 40 "first-day" motions along with its voluntarypetitions covering Delphi's employees and business operations, post-petitionDIP financing, continuing supplier relations, customer practices, certainexecutory contracts, taxes and related matters, utilities, retention ofprofessionals and case administration matters. The company said it expectsthat the Bankruptcy Court will hold hearings on the first-day motionsfollowing the Columbus Day holiday observed in the U.S. and, in the interim,will approve bridge orders granting interim relief with respect to employeesand business operations, continuing vendor relations and customer practicespending the Court's consideration of first-day hearings. Delphi will issue afurther press release this weekend regarding the Bankruptcy Court'sconsideration of Delphi's request for the entry of interim bridge orders andproviding further information about its chapter 11 reorganization casesincluding the date, time and location of the hearing on Delphi's first daymotions.
Among other matters, the relief anticipated from the Bankruptcy Court thisweekend and at the first day hearings next week would permit the company tocontinue to pay wages, salaries and current benefits of U.S. hourly andsalaried employees and certain retiree benefits without disruption and in thesame manner as before the filing. Similar relief for employees in Delphi'ssubsidiaries outside the U.S. is not required because they will continue to bepaid in the ordinary course of business without court supervision.

Delphi also noted that the execution of its transformation plan throughthe chapter 11 process may give rise to the incurrence of additionalprepetition claims as collective bargaining agreements, executory contracts,retiree health benefits and pension plans, and other liabilities of thecompany are addressed and resolved to maximize stakeholder value goingforward. There is no assurance as to what values, if any, will be ascribed inthe chapter 11 cases as to the value of Delphi's existing common stock and/orany other equity securities. Shipments of the first XM baseband decoders began in the second half of2001, when the function was integrated into two custom devices (a channeldecoder and source decoder) in a 0.25-micron process technology. Around 2.5million of these kits were delivered followed by nearly 4 million kits in0.18-micron technology. And for more than a year now, ST has been shipping thesingle-chip XM baseband decoder, a monolithic device based upon a 0.13-micronprocess. WASHINGTON, Sept. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- XM Satellite Radio, the nation'sleading provider of satellite radio, will begin broadcasting National HockeyLeague (NHL) games on October 5, the opening day of the NHL's 2005-2006season.

Live play-by-play coverage of NHL games will be carried on XM channels 204through 209. Later this fall, XM will introduce a dedicated NHL radio channelfeaturing original programming that will focus on all aspects of the sport.NHL games and the NHL channel will be available to all XM subscribers for noadditional charge.

Under its recent ten-year agreement with the NHL, XM will become theexclusive satellite radio network of the NHL beginning with the 2007-2008season.

NHL games and XM's NHL channel will be available in Canada in the comingmonths through XM's partner Canadian Satellite Radio (CSR), which is funding aportion of the agreement. CSR has been awarded a license to distributesatellite radio in Canada, as recently approved by the Federal Cabinet.
