Washington D.C., June 27, 2006 -- XM Satellite Radio, the nation's largest satellite radio service with more than 6.5 million subscribers, is dedicating the month of July to celebrating America's freedom to laugh. "Laugh Out Loud" July will highlight original specials and unique programming featuring some of the biggest names in comedy across the XM platform, including its four dedicated comedy channels.
As part of "Laugh Out Loud" July, every night at 10 p.m. ET throughout the month XM will air a different episode of "Stand Up, Sit Down," the original XM series where top comics discuss their careers and craft with XM Comedy on-air host Sonny Fox. Lewis Black, George Carlin, John Cleese, Dane Cook, Bill Cosby, Mitch Fatel, Jim Gaffigan, Gilbert Gottfried, Mitch Hedberg, Robert Klein, Larry the Cable Guy, Richard Lewis, Kathleen Madigan, Carlos Mencia, Paul Mooney, Brian Regan, Ron White and many others will be featured in "Stand Up, Sit Down" episodes during the month.

In addition to "Stand Up, Sit Down," XM will showcase other great comedy programming, including classic comedy featuring Bob Hope, Phyllis Diller, Bob Newhart and others; the greatest comedy duos; the best in Canadian comedy, timeless comedy routines from Monty Python, and more. Complete broadcast details for XM's "Laugh Out Loud" July, including schedules and program descriptions, is available online at

"Since XM became the first to offer the 24-hour uncensored comedy format anywhere on radio - satellite or terrestrial - our comedy offerings have grown from mere concept to four channels with some of the strongest listenership on the platform," said Eric Logan, executive vice president of programming for XM Satellite Radio. "The response to XM's comedy programming has far surpassed expectations with XM Comedy alone consistently ranking as one of the top five most listened to channels on XM."

XM's programming lineup features four dedicated comedy channels that offer a range of round-the-clock comic programming - uncensored comedy on XM Comedy (XM 50), family comedy on Laugh USA (XM 151), Canadian comedy on Laugh Attack (XM 153) and irreverent comedy and talk from Opie and Anthony and Ron and Fez on High Voltage (XM 202). XM also offers other original programming with a comedic focus, such as "Broadminded," which airs weekday afternoons on XM's talk and lifestyle channel for women, Take Five (XM 150) and features a comical look at the world of pop culture, current events and the lives of its three female hosts.

Following "Laugh Out Loud" July, XM Satellite Radio's Opie and Anthony will kick off the "Opie and Anthony Traveling Virus Tour" in August. Headlined by O&A show mainstay Jim Norton the "Opie and Anthony Traveling Virus Tour" will also feature comics regularly appearing on the O&A show, including Bob Kelly, Bill Burr, Patrice Oneal, Rich Vos, Ralphie May, Bob Saget, Tracy Morgan, Jimmy Shubert, Carlos Mencia and Dom Irrera. Special programming showcasing these talented comics will also be featured as part of XM's "Laugh Out Loud" July. Complete tour details are also available at
