XM Broadens Exposure with Strategic Partnerships

Oct 27, 2005/ XM continues to broaden its exposure by offering its content on AOL and soon DIRECTV (available in mid-November) and announcing XM+Napster, an online music download service, which will allow customers to purchase music heard on XM. All these strategic relationships complement XM's marketing partnerships with Starbucks Coffee, JetBlue, AirTran Airways, Hyatt Hotels, Avis, National and Alamo, which together help build XM brand awareness and trial.

XM Expands Sports, Talk and Women's Programming

Oct 27, 2005/ XM is the satellite radio leader in live sports content and will broadcast over 5,000 live sporting events each year. XM is capping off its inaugural season of exclusive Major League Baseball coverage with the biggest promotion in World Series history, offering every ticket holder to Game One a voucher to receive a free Delphi XM RoadyXT radio with a subscription commitment. In addition to MLB, XM is now broadcasting National Hockey League games as a part of a 10-year agreement. XM will become the exclusive satellite radio network of the NHL beginning with the 2007-2008 season. XM also carried the USTA US Open Tournament and PGA TOUR Golf, and it introduced a new Spanish-language sports channel XM Deportivo, which will offer 2006 World Cup Soccer. Earlier this month, XM also launched Take Five, a channel dedicated to women, featuring Ellen DeGeneres, Tyra Banks, the Satellite Sisters and content from the Food Network and HGTV. XM recently announced that the FOX News Talk channel will be available in January, featuring FOX News personalities Bill O'Reilly, Tony Snow, and others.

GM and Honda to produce more than 2 million 2006 XM-equipped vehicles

Oct 27, 2005/ In September, General Motors announced the production of its 3 millionth vehicle with a factory-installed XM radio. General Motors also announced it plans to manufacture 1.55 million vehicles factory-installed with XM in the 2006 calendar year. In addition, Honda announced its plans to produce 550,000 XM equipped vehicles in the 2006 model year, compared to a 2005 target of 400,000. XM's OEM partners represent 61 percent of the U.S. auto market, with automotive partners Toyota and Hyundai gearing up for XM factory installation beginning in the 2007 model year.

Washington D.C., October 27, 2005 -- XM Satellite Radio Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: XMSR) today reported financial and operating results for the third quarter ended September 30, 2005. XM ended the quarter with 5,034,642 subscribers, doubling the 2,516,023 subscribers reported last year for the third quarter. The growth was driven by third quarter net subscriber additions of 617,152, a 48 percent increase over the 415,671 net subscribers added in the third quarter 2004. Given its strong performance in the first three quarters, XM reaffirms its guidance of exceeding 6 million subscribers by the end of 2005.

XM's net loss for the third quarter 2005 was ($131.9) million, as compared to ($118.0) million in the third quarter 2004. XM reported an EBITDA loss of ($73.8) million for the third quarter 2005 compared to a third quarter 2004 loss of ($62.9) million.

Record Revenue from Cost-Effective Subscriber Growth

For the quarter, XM reported revenue of $153 million, an increase of 134 percent over the $65 million reported in the third quarter 2004. XM's third quarter subscriber growth was driven by strong automotive and retail distribution performance with a range of full-featured products. Subscriber Acquisition Costs (SAC) in the third quarter 2005 were $53, a decrease from the $57 in the third quarter 2004. Cost Per Gross Addition (CPGA) in the third quarters of both 2005 and 2004 was $89. XM products are well stocked for the holiday season and XM expects to accelerate its subscriber and revenue growth through the fourth quarter.

Washington D.C., October 26, 2005 -- NASCAR superstar Jimmie Johnson will join XM Satellite Radio for a weekly show to be broadcast exclusively to XM's five-million-plus subscribers from coast to coast.

Johnson's show will debut February 2006 on XM's NASCAR Radio (XM Channel 144). XM is the nation's leading provider of satellite radio and the official satellite radio network of NASCAR.

Johnson will discuss the latest happenings on the NASCAR circuit and talk about music and other personal interests on the wide-ranging show. Johnson will also play a key role in various XM promotions as part of a multi-year agreement with XM.

"I'm extremely excited to be part of the XM family," said Johnson. "For a few years I've been searching for the right outlet to give people an opportunity to get to know a side of me away from the racetrack. XM approached me with the idea of having a national weekly radio show and it was the perfect fit. I'm really looking forward to the partnership and getting started next season."

XM Canada Prepares to Launch

Canadians will soon be able to tune into Satellite Radio with XM Canada featuring commercial-free music, news, sports and entertainment programming AND Hockey!

XM Canada and its hardware partners are bringing Canadians the XM Satellite Radio receivers, designed for use anywhere you listen to audio entertainment as well as the world's first portable satellite radio.

The radios will be available through A&B Sound, Best Buy, Canadian Tire, Dumoulin/Audiotronic, Future Shop, London Drugs, Sears Canada, The Source by Circuit City, Visions Electronics and other retailers this Christmas.

In addition, General Motors of Canada will be rolling out selected 2006 models with XM factory-installed.

"Canadians have been demanding XM Satellite Radio and finally we are going to be able to offer them the fastest growing consumer electronics product of the last 60 years," said Stephen Tapp, XM Canada president and COO.

XM Canada's service will include an 80-channel lineup featuring eight channels (four French and four English) of Canadian produced programming, including broadcasts of more than 1,000 NHL games per season.

2005-2006 season NHL games will be available at launch and beginning with the 2007-2008 season, XM will be the exclusive satellite radio network of the NHL.

Samsung neXus XM Satellite Radio/MP3 Player Unveiled

Samsung has unveiled its neXus XM Satellite Radio/MP3 Player and here it is. Take a look.

This is the first MP3 player with XM Satellite Raido Capability. The Samsung neXus will come in 2 versions, one with 1 gig storage (50 hours) and 1 with 512mb storage (25 hours). Each Samsung neXus device comes with an XM Satellite Radio home docking kit, which allows the device to receive XM Satellite Radio in the home.

The neXus uses the XM's Connect and Play technology which will allow you to tag songs you hear on XM Satellite Radio to be downloaded from your xm+napster online service the next time you place your radio in the docking station.

Digital Content from XM can be stored when the neXus is connected to a home or car docking station. This content can then be played anywhere for a complete portable music listening experience.

The Samsung neXus will also allow you to store songs from your personal digital music collection, including MP3's and WMA files you have purchased from a variety of music services. The neXus will also allow you to create customized play lists using your stored digital music and recorded XM programming together.

Now the bad news, word on the street is that the neXus will not be available until possibly Feb. 2006 due to compatabilty programming delays.

No Dell DJ Satellite / Samsung neXus until 2006?!

The rumors are flying and may in fact be true that the Dell DJ and the Samsung neXus may be delayed until 2006.

The delays are reported to be due to software integration issues.

This is all speculative at this point, but based on past history of new XM Radios to the market, this may be very likely. I will keep you updated.
