XM SATELLITE RADIO PRODUCTS RECEIVE TOP HONORS FROM 2006 INTERNATIONAL CES INNOVATIONS DESIGN AND ENGINEERING AWARDS

Washington D.C., November 16, 2005 -- XM Satellite Radio (NASDAQ: XMSR), the nation's leading satellite radio service with more than 5 million subscribers, today announced that five XM products have been recognized as honorees for the Innovations 2006 Awards, including two "Best of Innovations" distinctions for the I-Sonic™ entertainment system manufactured by Polk Audio in the audio components category and the Terk XM Smart Digital Adapter manufactured by Audiovox Electronics in the vehicle audio electronics category.

Sponsored by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), producers of the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), and endorsed by the Industrial Designers Society of America (ISDA), the Innovations Awards, now in its 16th year, honor excellence in consumer technology design and engineering. The top Innovations 2006 Honorees from each category are named "Best of Innovations."

"We are truly honored to have the XM Smart Digital Adapter and I-Sonic named as Best of Innovations 2006 Honorees," said Dan Murphy, senior vice president of Product Distribution and Marketing for XM Satellite Radio. "Again this year XM is recognized with the most satellite radio products selected as Innovations Honorees, further proof that XM is the leader in satellite radio technology with the most advanced and diverse hardware options available. Along with our manufacturing partners, we continue to successfully make XM a mainstay in the car, in the home, and on the go."

The I-Sonic™ entertainment system, manufactured by Polk Audio, is a compact, easy to use stereo, all-digital audio system. This XM-Ready ready product also includes an AM/FM and digital HD Radio™ tuner and a DVD/CD player. Exclusive 4-speaker I-Sonic™ and Power Port technologies produce sound quality so big and lifelike that for many, the I-Sonic™ is capable of being the primary home entertainment system.

Manufactured by Audiovox Electronics, the Terk XM Smart Digital Adapter delivers XM to any new or used vehicle that has a car stereo equipped with Radio Data Service (RDS), offering consumers a universal solution for new and used vehicles that do not have factory-installed XM radios. The patent-pending technology provides a "factory-like" XM installation, leaving the dash and existing car stereo head unit intact. RDS is available in various vehicle models offered by leading automakers such as Audi, BMW, Chrysler, Dodge, Ford, Infiniti, Jaguar, Jeep, Land Rover, Lexus, Lincoln-Mercury, Mercedes-Benz, Mini, Nissan, Porsche, Range Rover, Scion, Toyota, Volkswagen, Volvo, and many others. RDS is a technology that was introduced in the U.S. in 1998 to send digital display information to FM radios.

In all, five products from XM and its manufacturing partners were among the Innovations 2006 Honorees selected by an independent panel of engineers, designers and journalists.
